The last few days have been hot and humid with highs around 90 and humidity at a million percent….or maybe it just feels that way. After two nights out, I got to stay indoors on Sunday night at the Coronet Motel….the only motel in Scottsmoor. It wasn’t great but it was out of the humidity, and gave me a chance to ice my feet, which have been presenting more problems lately.
Monday was more of the same in the weather department, and as I made my way towards more the more populated areas of Mims and Titusville the prospect of two more nights outdoors began to weigh on me…and my feet were continuing to falter.
On the upside, in the worst heat of the day….through the haze, and way accrossed the highway, I saw my first sign for Miami
As I made my way through Titusville looking for a place to eat dinner I saw an Oasis on the side of the road
Even though I was planning to find a gypsy campsite for the night, the meticulously well kept exterior of the Twin Palms Motel caused me to wonder how much a room at this motel might cost….or even if a room was available since there only appeared to be a handful of rooms in the motel.
A few minutes later I was chatting with the owner Mark Wade about which “themed rooms” were available, and with a good look at me he decided that “I need a little Christmas”…and before I knew it I was staying in the Christmas room for the night!
I’ll be making my way to Coco Florida today, and then heading to the beaches again on Wednesday, but for a night at least, I enjoyed Christmas at the Twin Palms☺
