The trek to Daytona was a bit on the wet side, but it made the arriving all the sweeter.
In addition to the fantastic accomodations, i was blessed with a visit from Sam and Lynn Moyer (my aunt and uncle), who drove over to see me from “The Villages”.
After a great dinner, and wonderful evening of conversation on the boardwalk they headed back home and I drifted off to dreamland in a cozy bed.
On Friday I took a cirquitous tour of Daytona to find the post office where my 6th and final training shoes were waiting (thanks again to Bucks County Running Co.)
With a fresh pair of kicks I set off for Port Orange to meet up with Candi and Mark Procos (parents of two girls I have had the privilege to coach…Sky and Sydney.)
We met at Panheads Pizza, which was fabulous, and for the second night in a row I was surrounded with great food and great people.
After chowing down on ice cream and pizza for a couple hours, I said goodbye to the Procos family, and settled into my Gypsy campsite for the night.
I will be a bit inland, and outdoors, for the next few days as I head south around Cape Canaveral enroute to Coco Beach, but I’m well fed, have a new pair of shoes, and some great memories of the last few days to carry me through.
