left Columbia Falls with a tough schedule to try and complete. 44 miles in two days. What made it more difficult was there is only one place to stay, and it was a campground about 21 miles away from Columbia Falls! I made it just before they closed for the night….and I hunkered down at the spot in the pic above for the long, cold, 48 degree night. What made me soon late, I can’t tell yet, but stay tuned….

made it to Columbia Falls, but stumbled across a brand-new camping option, Cottonwood Campground….and they have TIPIS! The pic is me and co-owner Shirley Cotton standing in front of my accommodations for the night. I’ll post more tomorrow☺
16+ miles in the “Sunrise” Trail today….in the rain.
I going to try to get from Machias to Columbia Falls, where I will end the day at a bed & breakfast / Llama keep….should be an interesting day. Wish me luck!

found a place to regroup for the long trip to Machias tomorrow. No food or water available on tomorrow’s trek so this is a good time to get a good night’s sleep in an actual bed.
